Established in 1854, this magnificent structure was once a bustling railroad depot in Hempstead, Texas. It was sold in 1960 to an artist in Independence, TX, and moved for a second time here to Wellspring in 2005. The restoration process was minimal due to the fact that the Depot was extremely sturdy and well-preserved. During renovation, the integrity of the building was protected, including the original flooring and moldings. It is estimated that 90% remains original to this day.
The Depot is divided in to 2 luxury bedrooms with private baths. Separating the two lovely bedrooms is a generous Gathering Room, a guest bathroom and a kitchenette. Additional twins are tucked within the bay windows. On the spacious deck, rockers are circled around for relaxing conversation. Cameras are pulled out for the beautiful sunset. And on a clear night, the star gazing can’t be beat.
